It has been a while since I wrote the above article. It is all so vivid in my mind. So thankful that God continues to lead our lives.

Since I decided to do the blog, I see him working all the time in our endeavor. I sometimes get tired and think can I really do that newsletter today. After going into the office, I have emerged with it all written in a relatively short time. Now here is the secret, I ask God for his help to give me the insight from where to do the research to ultimately putting it all together.

Curly and I had a dear friend in Georgetown, Texas that said, “there is nothing more intimate than praying with your spouse”. When Curly goes to bed we take the time to do our prayers together…sometimes we both are praying for the same thing, so God hears it twice. I also remember to think about after we are gone from this life, our prayers continue to be answered.

Many of our close friends are from our church, Shepherd of The Hills. SOTH has a large Cursillo group. Which I knew a little about, it amounts to spending 3 nights on a church campus in Mesa and growing in your faith.

I meet with a grouping group on Monday mornings in Fountain Hills, one Monday a few years ago I walked into coffee and the gals said, “Kathy, you need to go to Cursillo.” my response was, “yeah, when life gets easier that would be great.”

Moving forward, “No, we all want you to go to the one this March and we have everything lined up for Curly. The guys will take care of him”. I just got all teary eyed and realized how great these gals and their guys were. Yes, I went. The guys stayed the nights and Curly enjoyed going out for lunch and dinner with them. We had Hiede, our caregiver, come for extra help during part of the day. I would have never experienced that if we did not worship at church. They all are so special to both us.

Curly was able to attend his Cursillo at a renewal weekend, so he was able to stay at home.

I know the church is not part of everyone’s life but for us it takes the lead. All of our safe travels are not by accident….God is in Charge and directs us in moving forward!
