What started out as the worse day in our lives has become a time to celebrate the last seven years since Curly’s stroke.

The number 7 is God’s Number of Completion, Perfection, and Rest.
Here are seven things Curly has completed in the seven years with God’s help:
1. Therapy in Mesa, Stillwater, Minneapolis, and home for 2,214 sessions. Physical, Occupational, Aquatic, and Speech.
2. Five trips by air to Cancun without missing therapy. A trip by air to St. Louis. Three flights to Minneapolis. 33,000 miles of travel by van throughout the US. One trip was over 7,000 miles.
3. 51 years of marriage.
4. A cross country move. Sold the lake house, then sold the condo and bought a home in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Had it completely remodeled for a handicap lifestyle.
5. Purchased two handicapped vans.
6. Curly has always been upbeat and positive. And yes, I mean always!
7. We both realize that God has a plan, and we can do this. Curly went through Cursillo with God’s help.
Curly tries to complete all his therapy with perfection. Realistically we need to recognize that sometimes rest is the best medicine.

A special thank you to Courage Kenny in Minneapolis that made all the arrangements and kept the home health and van up to date as the flight was delayed 6 hours. Arriving past 10 p.m. and everything went like clockwork. Once again Curly’s patience came through. Yes, this picture was the way it was....look at him now!
Tonight we started our celebration with dinner at Café Monarch in Scottsdale and our last stop after lunch tomorrow in Sedona, spending the night in Flagstaff you will find us standing on the corner in Winslow, Arizona.
While we were driving to the restaurant tonight. the flap that protects the ramp came undone. Rio at the valet of Cafe Monarch took care of everything.

Thank you Rio and also a great big thank you to our waiter, Joseph. Interesting conversation and he made the evening very special.
The stroke has enriched our lives more than taken things away.
That is why we are celebrating Curly's success!
With God’s help we will continue to
Move Forward with Disabilities in Retirement!
