This is an exact quote from our 7 year old granddaughter. With the upswing in the Delta virus, it has once again made people more protective of where they go and what they do. Now is the time to start planning for AC…After Covid.
We have been fortunate that most of our activities are in the warmer climate so you can be outside and enjoy some social distancing with friends.

We do have a few trips on our agenda. Family coming for Christmas, just finished booking the medical equipment and van for Mexico in February and now starting to plan our summer vacation. Curly and I have decided to go ahead with all the plans and cancel on a need be basis.
Anyone living in Arizona knows we like to take our lengthy vacation in July and August. Wonder why? Last weekend I started looking at different options. Let’s do a relaxing trip for both of us this coming summer. How about renting a condo in beautiful Sedona and enjoying some cooler weather for a month? Continuing in the later part of August flying to see the family in Minnesota.
Okay, condo found. Why a condo instead of a house? Condos are an easier way to meet people when you are on vacation. You may get to know the people around the pool or the restaurant for a happy hour.

Next step…call the local medical equipment store and see about renting all the things you need to make your stay easy. We will take our ramps with us to Sedona, but the electric lift is what we need for Mexico, Sedona and Minnesota. Along with a bed that is not a platform. For Mexico, we can rent the lift through the company that picks us up in the van at the Cancun airport. Cancun Accessible, tours, airport transportation, equipment for rent. (cancunaccesible.com)
Check with their local home health agency if you need someone to come in to help with showers, etc.
My final step is to check with therapy. We will be in Sedona for 30 days and I believe Curly will need an evaluation and then they can set him up for the two days of therapy a week. We may need to skip the pool therapy, but we will check to see if that is available. When we go to Mexico the pool concierge gets Curly in the pool every day for exercise.
Our time frame begins in February thru August. Moving Forward with Disabilities in Retirement tells us it is not too early to find the condo, check on equipment, check on home health and see what it takes to schedule therapy.
Once again moving forward is a dual effort….Curly has been working on his part…..
finding great restaurants for dinner.
